Student protests: video shows mounted police charging London crowd
Video footage has emerged showing mounted police charging a crowd of protesters during this week's tuition fees demonstrations, the day after the Metropolitan police said tactics "did not involve charging the crowd".

"Finally the tables are starting to turn," they sing, the sound of their voices drowning out the drone of helicopters and the screams from the edge of the kettle. "Finally the tables are starting to turn."

At the same time sixth form students walked out to show their anger at the proposed £9,000 fee increases that will rob a generation of the right to a university education and the abolition of EMA.
